CONVERGENCES

Convergences is part of a study into the relationship between drawings, weaves and behaviour through programming and digital weaving.

This project highlights the differences created by the meeting of black and white pixels visualised digitally and the way in which, in reality, they will converge. After defining a code that enables data to be organised sensitively, these drawings are translated into pixels. In this way, the software used to operate the digital loom will be able to read the file and the drawings.

These textile pieces build a sensitive abstraction from coded indications. On the front of the fabric, the composition appears faithfully. The reverse side, just as interesting, presents a second composition that was not anticipated. Convergences is a set of six drawings and textiles woven on a single strip measuring 180 cm x 30 cm (with width).
